On this day, 6 years ago, I posted the first two issues of "Dr. Gas" on newgrounds. Dr. Gas was a series of comics I made in my sketchbooks at the time. While the first two issues are available on newgrounds in low quality, sadly the rest of the series is not available anywhere so it's kind of "lost media" until I ever find my old sketchbooks from 2017.
The comic series followed the adventures of a university science student named Matthew who would take on the alter-ego of Dr. Gas, to fight crime he would use his various powers, gadgets and scientific knowledge to defeat villians such as Professor Mass, a zombie variant of himself from another universe and an evil clone of himself. His "guy in the chair" was his professor "Dr. Moon" who would help him on his various adventures.
To commemorate this anniversary, I've redrawn a moment from every arc of the comic:
Arc 1 - Escape Danger:
In this arc, Dr. Moon is kidnapped by Professor Mass in order to lure Dr. Moon into a trap involving a self-destructing robot.
Arc 2 - Multiversal Zombies:
In this arc, Dr. Moon creates a multiversal gateway and invites Dr. Gas to view a demonstration. Things go wrong when zombie variants of Dr. Gas and Dr. Moon show up and they have to stop them in order to prevent a zombie apocalypse from happening.
Arc 3 - The Cloning Arc:
In this arc, Matthew wants to stop being Dr. Gas so he asks Dr. Moon to make of a clone of himself who can continue as Dr. Gas, this goes wrong when the clone starts fighting back against the original Dr. Gas.
In 2018 there was also a Dr. Gas reboot comic series however it didn't last long.
This was the cover for the first issue:
The idea behind this reboot was to give Dr. Gas a proper origin story, however I gave up after only 6 issues.
Also, a heads up. There's going to be a Dr. Gas related announcement coming soon-ish, stay tuned!
